Scotlands Mountains at their best over the last few days.

October is often the finest month in Scotland but this year we have started early with the glorious warm late summer conditions.

We have been out on the mountain crags in Glencoe making the most of the warm, dry and still conditions. Sublime springs to mind.

Agag's Groove and Curved Ridge are classics on Buachaille Etive Mor and classic they proved to be this week. Long may it last!

George Heriot's School annual scrambling weekend in Glencoe.

Each year we work with George Heriot's School on a variety of outdoor education adventure experiences.

Winter walking courses, winter mountaineering, scrambling and a coasteering weekend are all on the menu.

This weekend 12 pupils and 3 staff from George Heriot's School returned to Glencoe on there annual scrambling weekend.

I headed up onto Buachaille Etive Mor and guided Curved Ridge on Saturday and we did Dinner Time Buttress on Sunday.

The other three teams with our mountaineering instructors ascended North Face Route, Curved Ridge and the zigzags.

The weather was fabulous and the vistas across Rannoch Moor were just stunning.

What an experience for the 14 year olds. We look forward to seeing them again on other weekends. And hopefully we have a few converts to Scottish mountaineering in the making.

Seek and they shall find.

OK kids let's go find our tea! And so they did. Foraging fantastic day. Argyll's larder supplied us with a fine feast, with a few tasty additions from the kitchen cupboard we enjoyed an eclectic meal. Time locally is so crucial and wonderful for the kids to appreciate just what they have on their doorstep.
Scotlandoutside is a beautiful resource and especially at this time of year. We now have some secret spots to gather grub from in the future.
