Supporting a Duke of Edinburgh Award Expedition.

We have been over in the Perthshire hills over the weekend.

We have been working with a group taking on their D of E qualifying expedition. Well done girls you did so well. The weather behaved and it certainly was alot better than we were expecting.

These fine hills and quiet glens around Lednock, Almond and Turret are very attractive and picturesque offering wonderful walking for all levels of fitness and ambitions.

Thanks again to Beyond Adventure, always a pleasure.

Guiding a German group on Rannoch Moor.

Last Wednesday we were working with a group of visiting staff and college pupils from Germany. They  were very keen to explore the vastness of Rannoch Moor. We were rewarded with beautiful conditions and fine vista's.

Technical Advice Training in the River Minnoch.

On  Thursday and Friday I was working on behalf of Hebridean Pursuits at the Dolphin House in South Ayrshire. A day of discussion based around facilitating adventure activities and Standard Operating Procedures was followed by an exciting explore of a new venue for the Dolphin House staff and myself,  The Water of Minnoch. It is in the Galloway hills near to Glen Troon.  It offers fun jumps and swimming in lovely deep pools and gentle slides down rapids. A very productive couple of days and excellent wee adventure.

Back into the mountains.

On Tuesday we were out walking with Graham in Perthshire. We had a blustry but enjoyable day on lower summits above Comrie. On Friday and Saturday we were climbing on Buachaille Etive Mor in Glencoe. We managed to dodge  the worst of the

weather each day. On Friday we climbed the classic North Buttress with Kirsty and Steve. It was Kirsty's first mountain route lead, well done Kirsty.  On Saturday Andy, Mark , Dave and Scott headed onto the very interesting D Gully Buttress. It is a fabulous way to ascend and join up to Curved ridge and so to the summit of the iconic Buachaille. A great few days in tremendous situations.

Recent travels in Scotlandoutside.

Compared to the mainland of the UK, the last two weeks have been beautiful in The Hebrides. Hebridean Pursuits have been working in the Hebrides for 27 years and it never ceases to amaze me just how privileged we are to have such an environment to offer our adventure courses in.

We surfed, kite surfed, walked and explored on North and South Uist over the last two weeks and every day was just fantastic! Here are some shots of the unique landscape of the Outer Hebrides. It doesn't get much better anywhere in the world.
