Alpine-esk conditions in Glencoe.

The Hebridean Pursuits team have been  up in the mountains over the last few days guiding pupils aged 15 to 17 form George Heriot's School. The school had an annual Winter Mountaineering weekend in Glencoe with Hebridean Pursuits for the last six years.  It is the next step up from their winter walking skills weekend in January.

Three groups enjoyed two very contrasting days in the mountains.

On Saturday they all headed to the sharp grade I School House Ridge on which they practised moving roped up and wearing crampons on mixed ground. It was a wet day but good snow was left to productively practice the skills required to move onto steeper and more technical ground on day two.

On Sunday two teams headed to Sron Na Larig and one to Meall a Bhuridh. It was a fine day, dry and alpine in feel. Both teams really enjoyed their respective challenges.

Well done all involved, we now look forward to your scrambling weekend in September.
