Sunshine Gully Jan 4th

Scott at the top of the first steep pitch. Threading the needle!
Mark leading the first pitch of sunshine gully, a grade 4 pitch. The ice was a wee bit dinner plating Mark made a confident lead on this steep pitch.

Andy, Mark and Scott went to Beinn Udlaidh and climbed Sunshine Gully which gave us a great steep grade 4 pitch and lovely grade three pitch on the second pitch. The ice was just right giving good ice screw placements and chewy ice axe placements.
The crag, was quite quiet, with a couple of parties on the normal routes and one party on Captain hook, the snow was sugary which made progress slow to bottom of the routes. A great day and the cold weather is set to continue!

Its great to be back after four weeks of illness and suspected swine flue, just hope the conditions continue to remain cold, but we could do with a good few days of thaw and refreeze!
